The Old Oyster Factory on Hilton Head Island sold to local restaurant group

Coastal Restaurants and Bars announced that as of September 3, 2019, The Old Oyster Factory will join their family of locally owned and operated restaurants.

Coastal Restaurants and Bars is locally owned and operated for over 40 years. Old Oyster Factory will be their tenth establishment. Their restaurants include The Crazy Crabs at Jarvis Creek and Harbour Town, Reilley’s Grill and Bar and the North End Pub, Aunt Chilada’s Easy Street Café, The Boardroom, Carolina Crab Company, Fishcamp on Broad Creek and Fishcamp on 11th Street at The Port of Port Royal.

Overlooking Broad Creek, the Old Oyster Factory is a waterfront Hilton Head restaurant for family and children of all ages. With fresh caught seafood and a wide range of steaks and delicious desserts, you’ll be sure to enjoy your meal while taking in one of Hilton Head’s best panoramic views of the marshland landscape.

“We were interested in purchasing the Old Oyster Factory because of its long term success and waterfront location,” said Brendan Reilley. “We will not be making any major changes. You don’t change a restaurant that has 30 years of being a top restaurant. They have an amazing staff and we are happy to have them all join our family.”

Official statement from The Old Oyster Factory:
“After 30 years of continued service, the Old Oyster Factory is being sold. It’s success and longevity was the result of the hard work and talent of Franz Auer, the financial risk and guidance of Bruce Rossmeyer, and great attitude and legal advice of Dean Laurich. Thanks to all the talented hard working employees past and present, you made the place great. There is a special shout out to our longest term employees, Holly Ter-Haar, Jessica Lemek, Lee Webb, Andy Urbin, Margret Uremovich, Lili Ouimette, Rose Chisolm and Uli Wittinger. The new group taking over is Coastal Restaurants And Bars and we hope they have as great of a 30 year run as we did. They won’t be making any changes and we know we are leaving the business and our employees in great hands. – Ric Peterson, current owner”
