Fat Patties thanks all first responders with free burgers on 9/11

Fat Patties restaurant in Port Royal is offering Free Burgers to all local First Responders on the anniversary of 9/11.

The restaurant will once again be offering free burgers to all First Responders including Police, Fire and EMS, serving both our local Military and Civilian communities as a way to say ‘thank you’ for keeping us safe all throughout the year.

This is the eighth consecutive year that the restaurant is giving thanks. The first year, over 40 first responders were served during the day-long offer and the last few years has seen a significant increase with nearly 100 served last year.

“As September 11th nears once again, it’s our generation’s duty to impart the sense of loss and community to the next generation so they too will never forget.  It’s an honor to serve these wonderful men and women lunch or dinner”, said Nick Borreggine, owner.

Borreggine hopes to give away 100 burgers on Sunday at both restaurants in Port Royal and Bluffton, but admits, “it still wouldn’t be enough. What these men and women do is priceless, and selfless. We want to honor them.”
