Looking for that perfect pumpkin is one of the most exciting rituals of the fall season. Granted, pumpkins seem to look alike, but you always know when you’ve found just the right one. There are plenty of spots in the local area to find one, and to also have some fall fun.
We’ve found and comprised a list of local pumpkin patches in the Beaufort and Jasper County areas with some offering hay rides, live animals, corn mazes and more.
Carteret Street United Methodist Church offers a pumpkin patch right in Downtown Beaufort. The Pumpkin Patch, sponsored by the Carteret Street Youth, is open to the public and offers pumpkins of all shapes and sizes for sale. School trips are also available. All proceeds raised benefit Carteret Street’s youth ministries. The pumpkins are grown in New Mexico by Navajo Indians and are shipped directly to Carteret Street as a gesture of faith. Dempsey Farms has pumpkins for sale in the shop or farmstand, pumpkin patch-pick in the field, tractor-pulled hay rides, Honey from hives on the farm, farm market, restrooms, picnic area, school tours. Located at 1576 Sea Island Parkway, St. Helena Island. Phone: 843 838-3656. Open: Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10am to 6pm. Directions: 11 miles east of Beaufort on Highway 21 south. Also look for an assortment of fall vegetables available. Also have a 8 acre maze cut in Sudan Grass.
Lowcountry Produce has a Pumpkin Patch with haystacks. Located at 1919 Trask Pkwy, Lobeco, SC. Phone: 843-846-9438. Open Year Round, 8:30 am to 5:30 PM. Directions: just outside of Beaufort past the Marine Corps Air Station on Route 21 North. Pumpkin Patch with haystack, face painting, puppet show, prizes, refreshments, games, and picnic area. Barnyard animals and Country Store. Jams, jellies, honey, and gifts are available.
